In downhill mountain biking, victory can come down to the smallest fraction of a second.
A slightly different line. One perfectly timed turn. A tiny adjustment to the bike. When the margins are measured in milliseconds, everything matters.
This October, the Adventure Reels Tour 2026 brings that high-stakes world to the big screen in The Search for Milliseconds, a 31-minute film starring Canadian downhill mountain biking sensation Jackson Goldstone.
Produced in collaboration with acclaimed mountain bike filmmakers Anthill Films, the film goes behind the race runs and podiums to reveal just how much work goes into finding those tiny fractions of time that separate the world’s best.

Meet Jackson Goldstone
Jackson’s relationship with mountain biking started remarkably early.
Born and raised in Squamish, British Columbia, he began riding at around three years old after his parents gave him a balance bike to help him keep up while they were walking. Before long, he was jumping off every kerb he could find.
His talent quickly became difficult to ignore.
Jackson went on to win the 2021 UCI Junior Downhill World Championship and the 2022 Junior World Cup overall title, before stepping into the Elite ranks and establishing himself amongst the fastest downhill riders in the world.
But Jackson has always understood that natural ability is only part of the equation.
“I just enjoy the process of getting better on and off the bike,” he explained in a 2024 interview. “Seeing the hard work in the gym pay off on the bike is such a rewarding feeling.”
It’s that relentless pursuit of improvement that sits at the heart of The Search for Milliseconds.
When Every Millisecond Matters
After a serious knee injury forced Jackson away from World Cup downhill racing for 19 months, returning to the start gate meant much more than simply getting back on his bike.
It meant rebuilding, testing and searching for every possible advantage.
The Search for Milliseconds takes audiences inside that process, following Jackson and the team around him from pre-season testing through to the pressure of World Cup racing.
It’s a side of downhill mountain biking we rarely get to see.
Behind every race run is an enormous amount of preparation. Training. Bike set-up. Course analysis. Mechanics. Testing. Recovery. And a team searching for improvements that might save just a fraction of a second.
During the 2025 season, Jackson explained just how small those margins could become, revealing that one of his winning runs was separated by only 0.05 seconds.
At that level, milliseconds aren’t insignificant.
They’re everything.

More Than the Rider
One of the most fascinating elements of The Search for Milliseconds is that Jackson’s story isn’t told in isolation.
The film also turns its attention to the people behind the performance, revealing the support, expertise and preparation required to compete at the highest level of downhill racing.
Director Darcy Wittenburg of Anthill Films describes downhill mountain biking as having the same kind of behind-the-scenes complexity as many more mainstream professional sports.
And that’s exactly what makes this film so compelling.
You don’t just see the athlete flying down the mountain.
You see what it takes to get him to the start gate.
